The Pavilion_

Cheshire

The Pavilion sets out to look different. Conceived as a new business hub in Cheshire, it needed presence from the first approach and an identity strong enough to carry a significant investment. Eight OneTwo shaped the project at the front end, pushing beyond the familiar language of commercial development. More destination than business park. More pavilion than office.

With few planning constraints holding the site back, the architecture could push harder. Scale becomes sculptural. Volumes shift, overlap and project, breaking away from the conventional commercial box. The building needed confidence without excess — something distinctive enough to catch an investor’s eye, but resolved enough to make the ambition feel credible.

Strong horizontal planes stretch across the elevations, sliding above large areas of glass and creating deep, sheltered edges. Solid volumes anchor the composition while lighter glazed sections pull them apart. Entrances are carved into the mass. Upper floors project. Corners open. Inside, generous workspaces flow into meeting, collaboration and social areas, with daylight cutting deep through the plan. One building. Multiple ways to work.

The result is sharp, expansive and deliberately high-end. Glass brings transparency across the principal elevations, contrasted by solid material planes that give the building weight and permanence. Deep overhangs create long bands of shadow, while projecting volumes sharpen the silhouette and give the façades depth. From the approach, the building reads as a series of layered forms rather than a single commercial block. Confident enough to stand apart. Refined enough to invest in.
