Manchester Road consists of two striking dwellings located in Millhouse Green, Sheffield.
A bespoke proposal was created that complied with local and national planning policies and one that also respected the existing architectural contexts of the area whilst responding to the new proposals within the immediate context of Manchester Road.
To be completed within a 12 month build programme, Eight_OneTwo created a design that drew on the architectural details of the surrounding dwellings, while providing a modern interpretation of the local typology with contemporary detailing. In addition to this, the proposed structure has been designed to respect the existing proportions of the host dwelling that is to be replaced and the wider context of Manchester Road. By using high quality local materials, inspiration was drawn from the surrounding typology to provide a high level architectural street scene and a sense of 'completion' to the existing site.
The properties feature a large kitchen, private seating area/snug, downstairs WC and 5 double bedrooms with appropriate en suite and dressing areas.
The open plan arrangement is accompanied with an abundance of natural light whilst respecting the existing spaces, ensuring the new proposals blend seamlessly.
The generous sized gardens are the perfect setting to create an outdoor living space, with access to the garden from the rear enabling the integration of an inside/outside living area.
Each property also features a generous sized private driveway to accommodate several cars.
